About US.

The Milton Keynes Local Dental Committee (LDC) represents dentists in Milton Keynes and is an independent self-financing body with statutory functions. We are funded solely by contributions from dental practitioners and are not a trade union. LDCs have been in existence since 1911, and are constantly modernised to work effectively with the changing NHS.

The LDC is the only statutory body, recognised by successive NHS Acts, as the representative body for General Dental Practitioners (GDPs). The 1999 NHS Act extended the LDC role to include representation of all GDPs whatever their contractual status.  The LDC is recognised by NHS England as a key stakeholder to be consulted on issues relating to the dental profession

What does the ldc Do?

LDC members:

  • Represent local dentists (individually and collectively) in meetings with NHS England, the Local Dental Network & Health Education England

  • Offer bespoke advice and support for dentists and dental service providers (please contact us directly for these services)

  • Advise the Local Dental Team over complaints against dentists ensuring the dentists interests are represented positively

  • Feedback grassroots views at the national level

  • Arrange free and subsidised lectures and events for dentists and their teams, accredited with verifiable CPD

  • Important updates via email for dentists and dental service providers (you must subscribe)

We are committed to being a source of support, advice and reference for all dentists in the Milton Keynes Region
